Exams postponed

"Due to the hartal called by CPI(M) in view of the murder of a CPI(M) follower KP Sajeevan (auto driver), exams of today have been postponed to day-after-tomorrow, 19th, for lower classes whose exams were originally scheduled to end tomorrow and to tomorrow, 18th, for higher classes whose exams were originally scheduled to end today"

Noo classes today

"In view of the tragic incident that occured at Irkkur, there will be no classes today as declared by the district director of education. Since making van services for just a condolence meeting will not be feasible, the meeting has been put off for tomorrow." - Saritha mam

Akshara Sangamam - a class by Bhaskara Poduval

TP Bhaskara Poduval was given a cold reception when he entered the hall for his address. But after the speech almost all of the students had stood up to clap him farewell. Because he gave a nice motivational speech that inspires any average student, every average student liked him and some even fell on his feet.

Canteen

The school canteen had been inaugurated yesterday on 3rd December, Friday. There was special lunch on the opening day. The number of children who ate the meal exceeded the expectations and therefore some had to still go to "Nithyasree" (Daily sree). Tea and snacks are also provided.
Lunch coupons will have to be taken in the morning itself in coming days.

Children's Day - November 14, 2008

This year, the children's day celebration will be also the internal cultural festival for the school. Programs ranging from solo songs to group dances have been planned. For late-made programs, Sudha teacher (Organizer) can be met and she will try and see whether your program can be admitted.

Deepavali Holiday and 2nd Mid-term

The school will not be functioning on 27 October 2008, Monday on account of Deepavali.

The 2nd mid-term examinations will start from the next day - 28 October, Tuesday, and end the same week

Vijayadasami

The school will be closed on 8th October 2008 on account of Mahanavami Ayudha Pooja. Vijayadasami on the next day will also be a holiday.
The books kept for pooja can be taken back at 10:00 AM on 9th Oct.

CBSE class 10 and class 12 exams

CBSE 10th and 12th Examination will start from 2nd March 2009. The detailed datesheet will be published in the last week of December 2008

Re-opening after Onam vacation

After the Onam vacation the school re-opened today on 15th September, 2008 (Monday).

There was the general assembly and principal talked about how fast time will pass in the second term, full of cultural activities and such.
He said
"The second term will go like anything. Don't lose focus"

School fees can be remitted without fine on or before 17th of Sptember, 2008.

Best FM 95.0 is conducting an Onam special live programme from our school, tomorrow on teacher's day. Students from 9th standard through 12th standard are expected to perform something.

Onam Celebration

Onam will be celebrated in pomp and splendour on 5th September (also Teacher's day).

There would be :
  • Pookkalamatsaram (പൂക്കളമത്സരം) for classes 9 to 12
  • Pulikkali (പുലികളി)
  • Payasavitharanam (പായസവിതരണം)
After that the school will close for Onam vacation.

First Terminal or Quarterly Examination

The school caught the exam fever when the First Terminal examinations started on Wednesday - 27 August. While state syllabus schools are not having official quarterly examinations(though they are having them unofficially) CBSE and ICSE schools will be conducting them. The exams will end on 4th September for everybody.
On 5th September, there will be the Onam celebrations as well as Teacher's day celbrations.

As I personally have to prepare for my next exams I will continue later

Pre-Independence day report

62nd Independence day will be celebrated very befittingly tomorrow. Proceedings will start off with flag hoisting on 9:30. Students are requested to be in white uniform. Scouts and guides should wear their uniforms. Various cultural activities will follow. For higher classes, there will be patriotic song competitionas well as National Anthem competition. A freedom quiz will also be conducted.

Yet another education bandh

Now it has become quite usual. Monday, July 21, 2008 has also been wasted due to the education bandh called on due to the unfortunate death of a teacher. Students didn't suffer as the school authorities gave reports in the dailies that the school would not be working. Afterall, this time the bandh has done something good as the students got a chance to view the Lok Sabha proceedings and Confidence vote on television.

Another hartal holiday

Today (July 3, 2008 Thursday) was yet another holiday for the school because of the barath band called by the vishwa hindu parishad. Classes are being disrupted at least two-three times a month due to such unforeseen events.
